My Boss’s Facebook Invite
I really need know what to do. I am kind of in a tight spot. Here is my situation. My boss just sent me a Facebook invite and I don’t know what to do. I really don’t want to connect to him on Facebook. I don’t want my friends to know my boss and I don’t want my boss to know my friends. I am hoping someone can advise me on this. please

Hello there, You have done a great job with your AvoidFacebook.com website. I’ll definitely digg it and in my opinion recommend to my friends and my Facebook friends. Haha. I am sure they will be fascinated with this site.
2boysblue is right on point with the response, and I would add to the end of that: “…but I would love to connect with you on LinkedIn.”
I feel like LinkedIn is the perfect Facebook redirect. It’s a way for social-network-overloaded coworkers, bosses, and direct reports to feel like they have a virtual connection with you–but allows you to maintain your personal space and keep a professional distance.
No no no no! Even if you are an angel, this is a big no no! When this happens to me and it does, I just tell bosses and coworkers that I have a personal rule not to Facebook with work. FB is a place where I keep up with people that I dont see daily. If you work with me, you see me and dont need to see me in photos. Everyone laughs it off and agrees. Problem solved.

Well said! I agree…@ Jessica Facebook can be just as much a nuisance as keeping unwanted people out of personal life. @ 2boysblue I really like your suggestion – laughing it off might really be the easy way to get out of it without getting retribution.
And I was just wdoenring about that too!
