Facebook Addictions On Your Life

You and your siblings communicate with each other through Facebook, even when you stay together. You keep checking for updates every hour on your PC or mobile phone. The first thing you do in the morning is to check for your Facebook updates. Another indication that you are addicted to Facebook is that you wall is filled with updates, comments and apps.

When you are addicted, you give more importance to Facebook than your personal and professional commitments. You would be spending hours on a stretch on the site which can be harmful for your health. You would also find it difficult to stop thinking of the comments and updates of your friends even when you are offline.

If you are addicted, you would look forward to reach home in after work to find out what is happening on Facebook. You would also find it difficult to spend even a day without logging into Facebook, and the thought of not getting to know the latest updates will send you into depression. You are also addicted if your day ends by checking for updates and by bidding “good night” to your friends.

When you are facing any of such issues with Facebook then you are addicted to this social media site. This can cause some serious issues related to your social and mental health. Hence, it is essential that you minimize your usage of Facebook as much as possible.

The fact is that hundreds of millions of individuals use Facebook as a part-time activity. And, the advance of technology in the form of everywhere and every-time connectivity has further facilitated its use. You can share your ideas, thoughts and images with other people. You can connect with your old classmates. You can also find you former colleagues or friends with whom you had lost contact. You can also use Facebook to enjoy applications like puzzles and games. If you keep this kind of usage limited in terms of time and intensity, you are going to use Facebook safely.

But, the fact is that people allow Facebook to take the place of their real-world lives. At times, it is possible that you get connected to completely strangers and your real relationships can get affected. Most users are not aware of the internet threats such as hacking and identity thefts. Someone can write applications allowing viruses to enter into your computer. Others can track your cookies and gather information about your Internet habits.

When downloading games from Facebook pages/links, you may not be aware that you are actually allowing someone access to your system. Most of these games are setup by Facebook users and potentially can view your bank details, your passwords or other sensitive data on your computer. Addiction to Facebook is something that can affect both the old and the young, and people from different cultures. It is up to you to take actions to say goodbye to excessive use of Facebook.

I know by brother spends 5 to 6 hours a day on Facebook. I still can’t figure out what he is getting out of it. Couple of hours should be max in my opinion. I don’t know how to get him off. I think more than kids some adults are just as addicted to Facebook.

I am guessing that only addicted Facebook users would read this kind of stuff. My Mom for sure she thinks I am on it all the time.
