Why Quit Facebook
There are plenty of reasons why quitting the famous social networking site Facebook is good for you. Facebook claims to be a one stop site where you can conveniently get in touch with people you know around the world, friends from your school, college and other people you have met over a period of your lifetime. It is because of this social networking site that many users now prefer to live a virtual life, over the internet. For most people, updating status, uploading new pictures and playing games have become such a necessity that they forget they have a life otherwise.
Facebook being accessible with almost all cell phone providers has made people being glued to Facebook even on the move. There is always an update from each place they have been, or anything good or weird they have seen. What I ask is how good is this addiction that makes you forget your daily life chores and stick to this social networking site?
Quitting Facebook has many pros than cons. Of course when you create a new account you might think that it is merely a way to stay in touch with your close friends and loved ones, but Facebook has plenty of applications and games that can lure you into getting online every now and then and continue a Facebook routine. Seldom do people realise that they have other things to do. Women prefer baking cakes and making different cuisines on the games that are on Facebook, while neglecting their daily chores at home.
Another reason why it is a good idea to quit Facebook is to protect your personal information. Facebook, time and again has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, the top being misuse of personal information. There are even viruses are being spread through different applications and videos that are being uploaded and sent to everyone. The privacy settings are to be set by each and every user themselves and are not set on default, so until you realise that your profile is viewable by everyone and your personal information and pictures are also not protected and limited to just the people you know, people from all over the world have access to all your information.
Not to forget, social networking sites have a bad influence on the kids. In this techno-savvy age, where kids as small as five, should begin schooling and learning to adapt the school life, is very smart and can handle computer quite efficiently. Kids under the age of 15 pose as some one older than 18, and begin using Facebook, and make random friends. And kids can generally end up in bad situations and can be wrongly influenced. The addiction of Facebook has been growing on a daily basis, and knowing the negative effects is not the solution to stop visiting the website.
People think they want to get in touch with their family and close friends online, but they should be really careful while disclosing their personal details online, as anyone can access your data and make illegal and wrong use of it.
