Facebook Negative Effects
Although social networking systems offer many advantages like meeting new people across the globe and finding old pals. Facebook is one of those popular social networks. But are these advanced technological forms of communicating with people hurting the social’s skills?
The obvious drawback of Facebook is that your profile is openly available to all the users of internet. You gave up your degree of privacy. It is quite possible that you might be unemployed like other millions of people and supposedly it happens that your chance of getting job gets ruined just because the office employers have seen some offensive content in your facebook profile which added a negative impact on your image. Because Facebook is the only frequent site which comes into the people’s mind when it comes to searching for people.
Millions of user across the globe have their Facebook account and it is not something very indifferent to encounter with a virus affected page if a person uses Facebook so frequently. Hackers are active all the time and they usually target the sites which are mostly used by the users. It is quite possible that a hacker can send viruses so cleverly that the receiving user can’t even think of a second of getting affecting from it and hacker successfully steals the user’s personal info. Spam and scams are also an extra problem for users. A recognized trick is phishing which makes people fool to belief that they are still on their Facebook site which is very harmful.
Facebook has found to be very addictive for its members. Most of the people waste their time by just watching other user’s profile as if they are spying someone. This is a very bad habit. People now can’t help without staying connected to Facebook all the time. Time just passes away without doing any constructive sort of work using Facebook. Also some people use Facebook to target someone personal life or some religious group to hurt their emotions. This is a very practice now a days. Every day you will see a lot of offensive stuff disgracing someone.
Above all, with all these social utilities you must question yourself that how much you are detaching from the real contacts. The meetings are somehow limited to Facebook chats and posts. The belief of knowing someone has just limited to such network sites. People are getting instant messages, post messages, emails just to meet someone. The concept of meeting face to face and knowing each other face by face is getting very rare. Judging some one’s aptitude and intellectual level just by social network sites is very common and it can make people to setup a false belief about someone.

True.. Social networking sites , Facebook in particular have many negative impacts on the society. All over the world many people are addicted to Facebook, and they don’t realize that they just lose hours of their valuable time on Facebook in vain. Students lose the precious time they have to study and workplaces experience lower productivity. Adverse impacts on relationships , ones own privacy and security ,psychological impact on users are some other issues related to FB. However the proper usage of technology is in the hands of the people who use it. They need to determine whether to use that for their benefit or for their doom…
The irony of what you are saying on a blog, do you realise that this is no better then social networking itself. your statement may be true for some but do you really think this affects the one billion users that there are.
Good article. I absolutely agree that the negative effects of Facebook are many, and communication is one of the biggest issues. I’d go so far as to argue Facebook is the McDonald’s of communication. Basically it has done to the way we communicate what the fast food company has done to the way we eat. Sadly, it hasn’t been a change for the better.
I LOVE THIS SITE, a social networking site, that is dedicated to being against the social networking site Facebook, it’s like a Coca-Cola addict that is telling people that they should stop drinking Pepsi because it’s bad for you! I just wish there was a “Like” button so I could share this on Facebook with my friends.
