I know I have been writing the negatives of Facebook since I started the blog. But I wanted to do more and reach out to those who really didn’t care about the negatives even though there were millions of Facebook users knowingly or not knowingly were affected.
This was the fundamental reason why I created AvoidFacebook.com website. Trying to show points of view about Facebook. But after being online for 11 months I realize I need to do more and reach out to the mass users of Facebook.
Yes I was a Facebook user once. But I never really spent the time to make it “Cool”. This is the point I am going to focus for 2012. How to make the mass users of Facebook to be “Cool”. First of all to look “Cool” we have to be “Cool”. This is almost impossible to do while on Facebook.
We have all tried to upload those images and photos on Facebook to make us look “Cool”. Unfortunately we have all failed. One simple reason no one can make anyone “Cool” virtually. We have to look “Cool” in real life.
So let’s focus. What is being “Cool” really means.
1) You are the center of attraction to others, or
2) Others think that you are awesome,
3) Others think you are attractive, someone special,…..
So how do we achieve this by being on Facebook? Is that even possible? Does the social network really allows us to be “Cool”
The truth may be that a “Cool” person was already “Cool” before joining Facebook or any other social network. Most of us try to show that we are “Cool” by posting comments, uploading images of our self, vacations, parties and events to show that we are “Cool”.
We do all this to become the center of attraction and we believe that we can achieve this by being on a social network. There are about 800 million of us trying to do the same.
No matter how much we try we will be only “Cool” to very few people. Because they like you for whom you are. Not because you have an awesome Facebook profile or a social network profile.
Now that we know we cannot make our self “Cool” by being on Facebook or other social network let’s focus on becoming “Cool” in real life. As opposed to virtual life.
Let’s take away few minutes or hours you normally spend on Facebook and spent it on getting fit. Yes I am talking about “Avoiding Facebook”. As you might know our website is called AvoidFacebook.com and this is precisely to the point what we need to become “Cool”. So let’s say that you spend 1 hour a day on Facebook. I am sure you can take 15 to 20 minutes of that time to “Get Fit”.
Now you can see why our tag line of our banner simply says “Get Fit”… “Be Cool”…
Starting this year we will have a section called “Be Cool” and we will use this section to get you to “Avoid Facebook” so that you can become “Fit” and start to look “Cool” in real life. We have to start with the Fitness and I am sure that your friends would agree because they know how much time you spend on Facebook.
You can participate in any kind of fitness you like and as long as your health is good for fitness. Most important part is that your friends know that you have taken the time to do precisely that. Now you have taken the first step towards becoming “Cool”. Not only will you feel “Cool” your friends will perceive you are “Cool”
So let’s make 2012 the year we all become “Cool”. So that you can become the center of attraction, awesome and being attractive. Let’s start with the fitness and we will achieve being called “Cool”.
