Ignore Facebook
Number 1 social network site with over 900 million users is becoming a waste of time and more and more people are realizing this.

Ignore Facebook
If you are one of those people who are trying to find ways in which you are trying to ignore Facebook then here are some of the ways in which you can do that and still keep in touch with your friends.
1. Set a timeline: If you have been a keen user of Facebook and then try to cut yourselves off from Facebook completely all of a sudden, then you will notice that it is not only difficult to do it, but you may even bounce back and spend more time than you did initially. Therefore set a realistic timeline of a couple of months by when you will completely ignore Facebook and start doing more fun things with your time.
2. Say no to the frills: Often it is the add-ons in Facebook that are the most addictive. Therefore stop playing Facebook games. Even if you are playing a game, ignore the temptation to send a notification to all your friends every time you clear a level or you need some help to cross to the next level. In fact, when you reach such a stumbling block that is a very good time to stop playing that game completely. Do not use any of the apps in Facebook. Once you say no to all the frills in Facebook, it becomes very easy to ignore Facebook completely.
3. Restrict your online time: Make sure that you turn off all notifications and alerts in Facebook. Periodically reduce the time that you spend on the site. One of the easiest ways to do it is to make a list of things that you want to do when you are online, before you log in into the internet. As soon as that time is over, switch off your machine. Start reducing the time that you spend online in general and in Facebook in particular. If you spend a lot of time searching for research information on the net, then you can decide to copy the relevant information on to a word document and read it after you have gone offline. This way you will reduce the chances of getting distracted by a Facebook chat request. Make sure that you have planned a really interesting activity immediately after your browsing session – a jog outside or a coffee with a friend. This will help you to get off the internet as per your plan as you would be as keen on doing the next activity as you were to continue on the net.
4. Make use of parental controls: If you are a parent, trying to help your child overcome and ignore Facebook, then you can use some parental control software and restrict the access to the site. Make sure that you plan some cool activities for your kids so that they are encouraged to spend more time outdoors than cooped up inside a room and in front of the computer. Organize play dates for young kids and party activities for teenagers such that they get to know that there is more about life than just Facebook.
In short, if you decide that you want to ignore Facebook, you can do it. It may seem impossible initially, but once you successfully manage to do it, you will notice that you have a much better life where you have enough time for a lot of activities that actually matter to you. You will develop humane qualities and learn to interact effectively with people in the real world.
