Friends are perhaps the best gift you can give yourself. However, it is certainly not easy to make friendship and find really good friends. While a number of people have started using Facebook to find friends, what you must understand is that it is not the best way to approach a person as people use Facebook only to expand their relationships and not necessarily strengthen it.
Identify People Who You Feel Are Worthy of Your Friendship
Whether you have just moved into a new city or even if for some strange reason, you have neglected your social life and are now looking to make new friend(s), the first step to finding a friend is to look for people who you think fit the bill and are worthy of your friendship. You can either contact your existing list of friends or in case you have just moved into a new city, interact with people in your neighbourhood and office. You can also identify people who had earlier tried to contact you. You can always meet one or two people and then start hanging out with their friends. You can also engage in hobbies or indulge in community activities where you will get immense opportunities to meet new faces. Remember, with a little effort, you will meet ample number of people and find people who you feel are fit to become your friends.
Invite People to Your Home or Engage with them
Facebook does give you the option of virtual interaction but nothing can be more exciting then meeting a person face to face. In fact, if you want to make friends and build a strong relationship with them. Then it is even more important that you invite people over to your home or engage in some activities with them. Once you have met people, it becomes extremely important to take your relationship to the next level and the easiest way to do that is to invite them over dinner, for parties or even engage in something that interests them as well. However, what you also need to bear in mind is that you should plan your outings and parties well. After all, you wouldn’t want to invite them over or go out with them and turn you interaction into a dull and boring affair.
Attend Parties and social events
Once you have met people and invited them over to your party, it becomes equally important to attend their parties and social events. In fact, this will give you an opportunity to meet other interesting people who may eventually become your best buddies. When you meet the same group of people over and over again, you tend to know them well and gradually strengthen your bonding and become good friends.
To sum up there is absolutely no need to chat with people on Facebook as you won’t be doing any good to yourself rather than wasting your precious time. Instead, get up and get going and attend social events, parties and get together with people you feel can be your good friends.
